The organizing committee of the National Excellence Awards has disclosed that the official ceremony for the National Excellence Awards has been set for April 3 at the Unity Conference Center.The Awards ceremony that is being sponsored by OVATION INTERNATIONAL, the world's third largest distributed magazine, is intended to honor and provide recognition to all citizens and residents who positively affect the lives of other individuals and lift the name and image of Liberia.A release from the organizers says the awards night, which is the second of its kind in Liberia, has been designed to honor outstanding members of the Liberian society whose professional efforts and sacrifices warrant nationwide recognition.

According to the chairman of the organizing committee, Christopher Hayes Onanuga, over 1000 nominees, including individuals and institutions have registered for the Prestigious National Excellence Awards of Liberia Edition II, something he described as satisfactory.He said there would be various categories of awards on the night of April 3. He further named some of the Awards as Institutional, Educational, Entertainment, Posthumous, Continental, Philanthropy and Leadership. Other awards will include Sports, Agriculture, Business, Honorary, Information/Communication, Investment & Banking National Achiever, Entrepreneurship, Social and Community Service, among several others. The Committee Chairman said the awards target at least 60 percent Liberians living in the country, 10 percent Liberians living outside of the country, 20 percent continental and 10 percent international recipients. Mr. Onanuga has commended sponsors of the National Excellence Awards for their continuous financial and moral support aimed at making the initiative a reality.Mr. Onanuga has reiterated that the deadline for nomination of candidates for the prestigious National Awards is March 10, 2010.
