U.S. Investors Visit MCC, NPA

Investors from the United States representing various companies in that country have arrived in the country to register their businesses and to pay courtesy call on the Monrovia City Corporation (MCC) and the National Port Authority (NPA). The ten US companies that came in the country were invited by the Liberian Embassy in the U.S and are scheduled to remain in the country for several days to assess potential sites for their businesses and to see first hand the process they would have to undertake to have their businesses registered. The delegation stopped at the MCC where they held a meeting with the Acting Monrovia City Mayor, Mary Broh at the Monrovia City Hall.  The Acting Mayor welcomed the delegation and lauded a private, public partnership as the best means of moving Liberia into the future.   Company representatives that came into the country were Civil Works Incorporated that says that they were ready to begin operations in the country.  The company representative told the City Mayor that they have a product called Granrete and the company when in Liberia would be called Grancrete Liberia. Grancrete is a concrete like substance that is a cold ceramic that is activated by adding water. It is comprised of inorganic raw materials that have been proven to cause no environmental or health issues. It is lighter than cement, and is stronger than cement.

Liber Enterprises, another of the companies owned by and ran by Liberians in that country plan to re-vamp the health sector in the country by bringing advanced medical services and equipment to the country.   The Liber Enterprises Vice President, Ben Philips said that the company wants to make state of the art drugs and laboratory equipment to improve Liberians going to health centers and getting treatment.   Café Liberia which plans to be in the country within the next twenty-four months wants to bring a internet service in the country to have Liberians learn the computer and communicate with other Liberians to change the way the international community sees Liberia.  Other companies that came on the trip to showcase their products to top Liberian officials are Terrametries, and Falax Global among others. Accompanying the US investors, the Deputy Chief of Mission for the Liberian Embassy in the U.S., Edwin Sele said that all the companies were vetted before coming.He added that their mission in the U.S. is to identify potential investors that would develop Liberia, as it is also in line with the Poverty Reduction Strategy (PRS).
